UV Protection

With increasing evidence that exposure to UV can contribute to many eye diseases, screening from UV in eyewear has become critical. Most optical lenses, even clear, give the wearer some protection from harmful UV radiation. There are plenty of options when it comes to UV protection starting with a normal glare reducing tint up to the newest in photochromic technology. Come in and pick up a brochure or talk to our friendly staff about what the best options is for you.

Photochromic: Transitions VI™

Transitions lenses automatically adjust to changing light conditions, appearing clear when indoors and dark when outdoors. These lenses reduce glare and provide 100% UVA and UVB protection without you having to change to a pair of sunglasses.

Polarized: Nupolar™

Polarized lenses provide you with the optimal sun protection by

  • Reducing surface glare—no more glary wet roads or shiny car bonnets to distract you.
  • Improves Clarity—by increasing depth and colour perception.
  • Maintains Healthy Eyes—by providing 100 percent UV protection.

Polarized Photochromic: Drivewear™

Drivewear is a photochromatic polarized lens that was especially developed with driving in mind. It uniquely provides three different shades and darknesses to best assist with certain light conditions. The lens adjusts by changing from yellow/green for overcast weather, to light copper for bright light behind the windshield and to dark copper for bright light outside.
