Optometric Vision Therapy uses sequences of activities which are designed to fill the “gaps” in an individual’s visual system, or to improve visual skills. The range of activities will vary, for example children with gaps in their development may need exercises ranging from gross motor through to fine motor activities. Others may only need a pair of spectacles to improve their visual efficiency.
Behavioural Optometry involves prevention, not just treatment, a holistic approach to patients, treatment of causes rather than just symptoms.
Your behavioural optometrist at Specialeyes Canberra will often need to work with other health and education professionals to ensure that all areas of your child’s development are addressed. These professionals may include special education teachers, educational psychologists, speech pathologists and occupational therapists.
